Privacy policy

BtcForecaster shows Bitcoin price ranges. You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name. This page explains the small amount of data involved, who handles it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

BtcForecaster is run by Pelusoft Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 06874179), registered office 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom. We are the "controller" of the personal data described here under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Questions about privacy: [email protected].

The short version

What we collect and why

When you visit

Like every website, our hosting provider receives technical details with each request: your IP address, browser type, the page asked for and the time. These are kept briefly in server logs to run the site, keep it secure and fix faults. That's our legitimate interest. We don't use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

Analytics (only if you accept)

With your consent we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the site are used. It sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) and sends Google details such as the pages you view, your approximate location, device and browser. Google acts as our processor for this. Until you accept, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all. If you decline or later withdraw consent, we stop loading it and delete its cookies from your browser. The legal basis is your consent.

Advertising (only if you accept)

We show ads to keep the site free. They're provided by Google AdSense. With your consent, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your interests and to measure them. Without consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use only limited data (such as your approximate location from your IP address) for frequency capping, fraud prevention and reporting. Google is an independent controller for its advertising. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services and manage your ad preferences at My Ad Center.

The email report (only if you sign up)

If you ask for the results report, the sign-up form sends your email address straight to MailerLite, our email provider, which asks you to confirm. This site never stores your address. We use it only to send the report you asked for, and every email has an unsubscribe link. MailerLite, an EU-based company, acts as our processor. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. The legal basis is your consent.

Telegram alerts

BtcForecaster can post price alerts to a Telegram channel. If you join it, Telegram handles your account and membership under its own privacy policy. We can see the channel's member count, but this site receives no information about you from Telegram.

Stored in your browser

The site saves a few settings in your browser's local storage so they're remembered next time. They never leave your device:

These are strictly necessary for features you ask for, so they don't need consent. Browser notifications for alerts are shown only if you allow them in your browser, and are created on your device.

If you email us

If you contact us (for example with feedback or a press enquiry), we use your message and address to reply. We keep it for up to 24 months unless it leads to ongoing contact.

Who else is involved

Price and market data come from Binance, CoinGecko and Deribit. Our server fetches it; your browser doesn't contact them and they receive nothing about you.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the UK's adequacy arrangements (such as the UK–US data bridge) or by standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this doesn't affect what happened before. Email [email protected]. We'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site isn't aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
